The existing riding arena is a temporary structure that is not winterized or connected to the barn. The permanent arena will be fully winterized and connected to the new barn, making winter riding much more practical for the riders and operations staff. An enclosed observation room will also make it comfortable for parents to observe activities year round.
Currently, the capacity for Rainbow Riders to accommodate older youth and children with more acute disabilities is limited due to lack of equipment. The plans for the riding arena will include equipment able to lift heavier and more physically sensitive riders, helping even more children avail of equine therapy.
